Chunder’s now level 25 (almost 26) and over the course of the weekendhas gained 5 levels, and around 8 blues from WC, SFK and BRD.

I managed to get into a great group for SFK when I was just level 21, and luckily all the leather\weapon drops that I could roll NEED on, people either had or couldn’t equip !  The group tore through SFK and went on to clear BFD up to Twilight Lord Kelris, and then the problems started :-) .

The priest got pissed when he lost the roll on the staff he drops, and then promptly clicked on all the fires, and then SS’d when we died and HS’d out.  To be honest I wasn’t that fussed as I was about ready to log, but it was pretty lame as everyone else had to Corpse run back to the instance.  The roll was won by a druid (who was tanking, but had said all along he was resto and would roll on resto gear), which I had no problems with.

The WC run went pretty well, even though there was only 4 of us, and we had a level 18 Bear Tank (who wasn’t the best I’d ever grouped with tbh).  Luckily we had a level 26 Warlock (with no bloody soulshards) who was able to OT some mobs and provide a great deal of DPS.  The tank had to bail just before the Serpentis and Verdan which left us with just 3.  With no tank to speak of we just DPS’d Serpentis with no issues, but then we had a problem.  The rogue went for the lone Druid of the Fang between us and Verdan (who we could’ve skipped, even though it would’ve been dangerous) and the Warlock decided to pull Verdan.

Having the Rogue out of the fight for the start left us with not enough DPS to get him before he rampaged through our meager defence.  We got him to about 10% before we had all bit the dust.  The Lock was pissed as all she was there for was the Living Root, so had left the group before we got to the spirit healer so that was it for WC.

Again I wasn’t that fussed, I’d already got more loot than I could’ve hoped for (picked up Armour of the Fang and a cloth Healing Robe from there) over the course of the weekend, but I would’ve liked the Shield to drop.  Oh well, thems the breaks I guess.

All in all a great weekend for Chunder, and I hope to do the same for Bandaid next weekend.  I’m loving leveling the Shaman at the moment, and have kinda parked App and Chompi (which is a shame as I’d love a tank at 70 for WotLK).  Mia and Kit are almost ready for Outlands now, so I will probably get Boog out of mothballs to help them in the Instances (as I’ve not really experienced any BC Instances which have been fun (PUG’s FTL!).

RFC

Well we managed to go into RFC last night and it was a ton of fun.

The night started really well with a quick 20 min group up with both Mia and Kit (who I would be instancing with) and one of their RL friends and girlfriend (who was also in our old Alliance Guild). Was great to get back WoW’ing with some old friends.

Shay had an early start though so we were soon down to 3 and thought we’d poke our heads in RFC to see how we’d cope. So we relogged, and I was there first as I logged Chunder out at the Shaman trainer (to respec to resto). I popped into RFC and cleared the first 2 snakey things with little problem (30% health and no mana at the end though) . Then Mia zoned in and we cleared upto the troggs. At this point we had a level 18 Shaman (me) and a level 16 Mage (Mia). Kit was along after another 5 mins (having had to come all the way from Thunder Bluff) so that gave us our level 16 meat shield and away we went.

We cleared the first 2 bosses, and Mia scored a nice pair of Crstaline Cuffs from Traagaman. We could’ve gone further (as we had no problems with any of the groups up to that point) but Mia had said she was tired at the start and we were only having a butchers in there.

The next plan is to get us over to deadmines and tear that place up. It’ll take a bit of summoning and meeting stone jiggery pokery but that should be a right laugh.

I’m torn over who to start levelling, as Bandaid hit 20 last night. I’ll post up a couple of pictures of the instance run when I get home tonight (unless I go out to the cinema).

First BG’s = not much fun

Well I took Bandaid into WSG last night for bit of PvP.

WHAT. A. MISTAKE.

Apart from being a super easy kill (with only 500HP) I had forgotten how much twinks get on my nerves !

I only played 2 BG’s before the moaning about each other from the twinks and non twinks got too much for me. I wish Bliz would do something to put twinks together. I reckon a lot of twinks want to fight other twinks, although there is a larger percentage who twing simply to be able to bully non twinks. Why they enjoy EZ-mode so much is a mystery to me.

I wasw having trouble healing twinks, as they’ve got in the region of 1.5 – 2k health, my piddly heals didn’t really do the job. I saved a few people though, and got a couple of nice whispers as a result so it wasn’t all bad. I like the idea of being a PvP healer, but I need a bit more survivability before I go back in there. I’ll prob play the odd game while I wait for friends to log on.

I’m off back into BG’s tonight as I can’t find any groups to do the last couple of Q’s I’ve got in Ghostlands.  I’m level 19 now (with zero enchants) and sitting at around 650 HP buffed :-)   Not exactly tough, but it might give me enough time to get another heal off on someone.

First Comment and DING 19 !!!

Firstly a big thanks to Sellia for the first comment on my Blog :-)

Secondly – Manged to get Bandaid to level 19 this evening.  I’m enjoying him so much I dont think I can be arsed to sit at level 19 and BG to get the two or three items I wanted.

I’m almost done in Ghostlands, and I really wanted to get hold of the exaulted cloak which will mean finishing off my last 3 or 4 quests and then I can head back across to the oldschool lands.

Time to get Chunder out again I think, or maybe drag App and Chompi out of mothballs

w00t – level 16 for Bandaid

Well last night Bandaid managed to tear through the last part of level 14, all of level 15 and half way through level 16 !!

I was shocked at the speed at which I was tearing through the levels, especially as Bandaid can’t exactly kill fast at this level.  I’ve picked up a new rank of MindBlast now so that may help a little.  I’ve also now got rank 1 Heal (3 sec big heal) which I doubt I’ll use much outside of groups.

I have noticed that the lack of any snares, interupts (apart from psychic scream) or real burst damage I’m struggling on any mobs that try to heal or run away.  Luckily with PW:S, Renew, and a health pot (alch ftw) I can handle a couple of adds.

I’ve also now equipped my new wand (skycaller) which adds about 10 DPS to my wand hit.  As I spend a lot of time wanding this will also make a huge difference.  SW:P now has an additional 6 seconds which helps as it’s 50\50 whether it’s run out before the mob dies at the moment.

Typical pull is . . .

MindBlast (at max distance)

Smite

SW:P

Renew (if under 75% HP)

Wand til death

This seems to work for me at the moment, and I’m ending most fights at around 75% health\mana (by the time I go to pull the next mob).  As I’ve been exclusively questing, I’ve not really had to drink much (as I’m usually travelling to\from a Q objective) so mana hasn’t been an issue.

I’m starting to enjoy it more and more though, and I can’t wait to take him into his first instance.  I’ll try to post up some pics to liven up the blog in the next few posts as well

Bandaid is now 14

Well another night and another ding for Bandaid. I only managed to play for about an hour last night, but thanks to the layout of the Ghostlands quests I chained about 6 quests together without too many problems. I’ve still a couple to hand in (as they finish away from the Inn) so they should see me to at least half way to level 15, and then the next chain of quests may get me to 16.

That’s the plan for tonight anyway. If I get that done before I have to logoff then I’ll probably get Chunder up to level 18 and then hit WSG for a few games (depending on how fast they go). I’d like to get him to 20 at some point next week, unless 19 BG’s is super fun in which case he’ll sit there til Bandaid hits 19 and takes his place.

From the 19 BG’s I want to have collected the following for Bandaid before he levels up to 20

advisors_ring_18.jpgrune_perfec_18.jpgbattle_healers_18.jpg

I’d like to also get hold of this for Chunder as well while he’s in the 19BG’s

I’m not too fussed about the BG weapons for either toon to be honest, as I’ve got comparable, if not better already in the bank for them.

Bandaid hits 13

Well after a crappy day at work, I didn’t get home to take Chunder into RFC which annoyed me a bit (I hate work at times). Still, it did give me a chance to get Bandaid up from 11 to 13, and give me a headache as to who now goes into RFC.

I think that Bandaid will perform much better, as at 14 I will have

PW:S (88 dmg shield)

PF:F (+8 STA)

Renew (100HP over 15 sec)

Lesser Heal (135 – 157 2.5 sec heal)

If I get him to level 16 (which is feasible if we schedule the RFC run for Thurs or Fri) then I’ll also have the first rank of Heal (3 sec cast – heals 295 – 341) to help out.

I have to say though, I died a shit load tonight!! I kept grabbing aggro in Ghostlands and couldn’t handle more than 1 mob at a time (esp those pesky spirits in the lake who debuff you to take upto 30 more damage). That said, the new rank of PW:S should save my bacon a bit, and the next rank of Renew will also help me out a ton.

All in all it’s looking good for these two toons, and I’m looking forward to levelling them both up

To Twink, or not to Twink – that is the question . . . . .

Well having been playing the AH a lot in the last 3 or 4 months, I’ve come across a ton of great twink armour\weapons and where I’ve managed to grab a couple at good prices (or made a killing on one of them) I’ve banked the duplicates and saved them for a later date.

Chompi (my warrior) has a nice set of Scarlet Armour (a lot of it enchanted as well) waiting for him but he’s been sidelined for a bit while I get my healing alts up to Instace levels.  I haven’t got any good leather items for Chunder, but Bandaid has about 4 Blue wands, a couple of Blue Staves and some nice cloth armour as well.  I’ve not enchanted any of this as yet, but I think that Bandaid will be getting some serious pimping as he goes along.

I’d like to twink Chunder for the 19 BG’s – but to be honest I dont think I’ll bother as Shammys aren’t exactly idea twinks in that bracket (maybe when I get to 29 with him it will be a different story).  I’ll hopefully get a the PvP ring rewards for him and Bandaid before they get to level 20 though.  Depending on how the BG’s go, I may also farm some marks\honor ready to grab the Rune of Perfection for when they ding 20.

Not sure if I’ll get online tonight, but next on the list of things to do is to get Bandaid up to level 16 and then hopefully into either RFC or WC before the weekend

Chunder’s on the road to RFC
January 14, 2008, 3:03 am

With Chunder hitting 14 last night (and just about to ding 15 with the next quest hand in) it will be him that goes into RFC on Tuesday night with Mia and Kit’s alts.

I think Bandaid would’ve handled the healing better, but I’m sure Chunder will do just fine.  With only Healing Wave (rank 3) though it may be a little testing.  I’d have loved to have some of the tools available to Bandaid (PW:S, Renew etc) but thems the breaks.  Who knows, we may even be able to tempt another healer along and I just sling some good ol lightnin bolts and whack things with my mace.  We can but hope :-)   I think Chunder will make a great healer once he gets a few more healing tools, such as the healing stream totem, and the 1.5 sec cast lesser healing wave.  3 seconds on a heal cast is just massive, especially when it’s your only heal ! I think if I’m healing RFC I’ll just be spamming that button, and not worrying if it overheals !!

Anyway, that’s all for tonight, having gone to bed wth Dyl at 6pm, I fell straight asleep til 1am, and then hunger got me out of bed, and onto WoW for an hour or so.

FOR THE HORDE !

Chunder hits level 10 the hard way

Well having enjoyed Bandaid’s leveling in and around Brill on Tuesday, I thought I’d take Chunder there as well. I forgot that there wasn’t a Shaman trainer anywhere near, so quested the 4 levels using level 6 skills (very weak towards the end) and and no armour upgrades. I was using my initial weapon and only had 1 green to my name (lucky drop on a shield).

This was the first time I’d played without semi twinking. I usually have an alt decked out in all greens as soon as possible, and upgrade the weapon as fast and frequently as possible.

I couldn’t be arsed to go back to Kalmidor and train up before it was time for the level 10 Fire Totem quest, so it was slightly slower going than it should’ve been.

Chunder has taken Mining/Herbalism (a combo I’ve not done before) so it’s a bit funny only having one of my gathering skills tracked on my minimap. Thankfully cartographer tracks nodes/herbs I’ve already harvested which helps no end.

Chunder finished the night in the Inn at level 11.5 and with the reagent pouch he needs for the next part of his fire totem quest. All in all a good nights questing, and I found the shaman a blast to play. Looking forward to getting him to 15 or so and getting into RFC. I’ll probably take him over to Belfland once he gets his fire totem, so that should be fun as well.
