Well I’ve a choice of 4 different classes for my healing alt.
Priest - Played a raiding priest before so know the class well, and quite adaptable with the shadow talents.
Shaman - Played a Shaman to lvl 40 in the past (my first toon) and enjoyed the class. Have not had much experience of instance healing with them though. Like the solo-ability of them, and although the class is allegedly ‘broken’ according to the forum posts that doesn’t really bother me at this stage.
Druid - Never got a driud above level 13 – and to be honest this is the class I’m least likely to roll. I’ve got a Tauren warrior, and while I think they look awesome, they’re too big on the screen for my liking. I also dont like the fact that regardless of the armor upgades you get, the forms all look the same (shallow I know – but I have to look at the toon so I dont want to have to look at the same toon all the time).
Paladin - The one class I have not ever played. I love the idea of AoE grinding, and the video’s I’ve watched make them seem pretty amazing. However I just dont think I’m the paladin type of player.
From the above I think it’s pretty safe to say I’m going to either roll a Shaman or Priest. I’ve got both an Orc shaman and UD priest at lvl 6 which I’m using as mules so it’s just a case of picking which one to go with.

Last night was the best I’ve had in the World of Warcraft since I returned to it.
I was only online for an hour, and I didn’t get any phat lewt. So what made the difference????
2 of my old guildmates (Mia & Si) returned to Azeroth after a 2 year hiatus!
We only grouped for an hour or so, but it was just like the old days. This has rekindled my interest in WoW as it had dwindled a bit. Plus it gives me an incentive to play my Warrior as that will give us a healer (Mia – Priest), dps (Si – Warlock) and a meatshield (Me – Warrior). These are totally different classes to our old mains (Mia was a warlock, Si a Paladin and I was a Priest) so it should be quite a refreshing change.
I’ve been missing healing recently, (my old main was a holy\disc raiding priest) but having a Rogue (29) and a Warrior (23 and rising) as my main alts I don’t know when I’d be able to squeeze in another alt. I may level up either a Druid, Shammy or Priest for the 19 BG’s to play with for a while though, that may give me my healing fix for a while . . . . . . .

I’ve just been a sent a nice list from Allakhazam with all the Rare mobs listed with locations etc
I personally love tracking down rare mobs, you’re almost guaranteed a green (or better drop) and it’s a nice distraction from the usual quest\grind\instance

Well having just reached lvl 19, I’m almost ready to head off back to more familiar zones. I’ve a few Quests to clear up, but mostly Grouped ones which I may have to come back for when I’ve some friends doing them (as I’ve only grouped with 2 people that are worth remembering my entire first 19 levels.
I’ll look back fondly on my time here, and I’ll certainly be bringing my next toon (probably a Druid or a Shaman, maybe a Priest) back here for the levelling experience. Blizzard seem to have really thought about the layout of the zones and quests with this expansion, and if WotLK has the same progression in quest structure then I’ll be a happy bunny.
I’ve manged to grab the Sinister Scmiter from the Rogue vendor but there’s been no sign of the Throat Piercers ever being in stock. Oh well, thems the breaks I guess, and as I see them on the AH for upwards fof 100G I guess they’re camped out pretty much all the time (and I think I’d AH them if I managed to grab a set anyway
).
One other thing I’ve noticed, having popped into BG’s for the first time was that it’s overrun with Rogue Twinks. In my first match I lasted about 3 mins as the 5 twinks were just constantly bitching about non-twinks ruining their game. Just because we didn’t have 1500HP’s and enchants on all our armor and weapons we were inferior for some reason ???? Anyway, after a few minutes of this I decided to jack it in and afk’d out of there. Once the de-buff was off I entered WSG again and had pretty much the same experience.
I just can’t be arsed to listen to people moan at me about my gear. I play for fun, so wont be going into BG’s again til I’m in the upper 20’s. It’ll be interesting to see if that’s any different. I’m also going to take my next toon (a healer of some description) into the 10-19 BG’s untwinked to see if the response is the same. I’m guessing it will be, I s’pose many people think that if you can’t beat them wy not join them. I’ve nothing against Twinking your toons, but when you start to moan that other people haven’t spent as much as you on gear\enchants then it’s time to take a step back imho.
Anyway, App’s going to hit 20 in a day or so I reckon, and then head to the Barrens\Stonetlon Mountains\Ashenvale in the hope of some world PvP
Bring it on Alliance scum !!!!

Having now been in Ghostlands for a few levels I have to say that I’m impressed with the flow of the quests, as the levels seem to be flying by.
There’s still the usual go to x and kill z quests, but as I’m new to the area I haven’t got bored of them, yet . . . . . . . . . . . .
Still no sign of either of the items I wanted from the Rogue Vendor (see previous post) but I’m checking regularly in the hope they’ll appear when I check her inventory. I have also been a n00b and sold the linen\cooking materials I didn’t need instead of mailing them across to Bandaid (Doh!). Still they’re pretty easy to come by and I’m sure I’ll soon gather the required materials for cooking\first aid in no time.
I have picked up a nice new wand after a chance meeting with Dr Witherlimb.

I left the encounter with virtually no health, shrunk in size (a long debuff which lowers your STA and STR by 5) but with this wand in my bag ready to be sent to Bandaid the next time I was near a mailbox.

Well having not ventured into the Belf area’s when levelling my ‘lock I decided to head on out there to see what all the
fuss is about. So far I’ve cleaned a few of the easy quests out as I was lvl 11 when I ported from UC, and I’m getting
ready to head out to Ghostlands the next time I log on. With a bit of luck I’ll manage to pick up a pair of Throat
Piercers and a Sinister Scmitar

Once I get my grubby mits on those bad boys then it’s off to Westfall to get

Unless I can be arsed to get my ‘lock across to Azuremyst got me a Bandit Mask by then.

Well after an 18 month break from WoW (total cold turkey, I even sold my account to a friend so I wouldn’t be tempted to return) I have now been back in the World of Warcraft for a couple of months.
I started playing WoW back in the US Beta, and played on the US Servers until the game was released in Europe. My main started off as an Orc Shaman on the US Retail (PvP server, lvl 60), then moved to a Troll Rogue on a PvP server on an EU PvP server with some RL friends. This lasted until around lvl 54 when most of my guild left for Alliance PvE (damn carebears) and I followed them. Fancying a total change of class, I rolled a Dorf Priest as my new main, with a Dorf Rogue as my twinked out alt (mainly after getting a Krol Blade drop and I couldn’t bear to part with it, having coveted the weapon all the time I was playing my Rogue). After a time some of us rolled Horde on the same server as we preferred the Horde atmosphere, and soon I had (along with the 60 priest and 53 rogue) an UD Lock at level 58.
It was around this time that I was becoming bored with my priest. He was simply a heal bot in MC, was geared well enough to solo heal most pug’s through any instances without paying much attention and I generally only logged him on to raid or help out guildies with random instance runs. I couldn’t do jack solo, and as the main healer for my guild, going shadow wasn’t really an option. I loved the UD ‘lock, and he was fast becoming my main toon, I loved him in BG’s (having played most of them with the same group of people as we all levelled up), and questing with him was great fun.
I then decided to shelve WoW, as my wife was 6 months pregnant and I wanted to be able to devote time to her and our new addition, rather than spending 4 or 5 hours every couple of nights immersed in WoW. I can’t stress how happy I am that I took this enforced break from WoW, at that point I was raiding 3 times a week, and the other nights I would probably log on for a few quests or BG’s. There’s no doubt in my mind that I done the right thing, juggling a new born baby and WoW just wouldn’t have worked for me.
15 months later I found myself with more time on my hands as our son was now sleeping through the night with no problems and there was no midnight feeds to contend with. I decided after some consideration to purchase WoW and TBC and start playing again. Luckily enough purchasing WoW coincided with a new project at work which ‘allowed’ me to play WoW while at work (as I was babysitting a new team which to be honest really didn’t need my assistance). This gave me the chance to level up my new Orc Warlock to 70 in no time at all.
Having been 70 for a little while now, and not having any alt’s that I was interested in, I decided the time was right to start getting my sneak on once again and rolled an new rogue, App . . . . . . .

An new Blog . . .
Well I’ve decided to create another blog to document my new Healing Alt progress. I’ve got my Rogue and Warrior now up to the late 20’s and early 30’s, and to be honest I still miss healing !
Having played an end game healer prior to BC being released I find myself thinking back to my healing days and wishing I’d rolled a healer for my Alts rather than pure DPS\Tank. One of the things stopping me rolling a healer (which is odd as I rolled a Tank for the very same reason) is that since my break from WoW I have become a father and as such I can be called away from WoW at any time for any number of reasons. If I’m with friends this is not a problem, as a large percentage of the people I play with are at least in the their mid 20’s – or mature enough to realise that RL > WoW. However sometimes people do not have the same view and being one of the 2 essential roles (tank\healer) in a 5 man group it’s not nice to have to leave mid quest\instance.
However, I’m speccing the Tank to be a DPS\Offtank and the healer will also focus on DPS\Off Healing so hopefully on the occasions I am either healing or tanking I am not interupted with any emergencies.
I’m not yet decided on what class\race, but it will be Horde on the Euro Shattered Hand Server. I’ve imported some WoW posts from my other blog so dont be surprised to see some non-alt-healing posts at the start of the blog.
Anyway, I’m off to ponder what race\class to play – which will most likely involve farting about with model viewer to see who looks good in what armour lol
